Edwin L.J. Blinde, age 88 of Kearney (formerly of Johnson), passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007 in Kearney. He was born April 11, 1918 southwest of Johnson, and was a WWII veteran of the Air Corps.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Cheryl of Kearney; 2 granddaughters; 5 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law August and Lois Blinde of Johnson; sister and brother-in-law Wilma and Arthur Fairbanks of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law Ruth Blinde of St. Joseph, MO; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 23, 1:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with graveside military honors by American Legion Post #330 of Johnson. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Johnson (303 Chestnut) Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
