Eleanor Gerdes, age 78 of Auburn, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Bryan LGH West Medical Center in Lincoln. She was born November 3, 1928 in Johnson, NE.
Survivors include children Marjorie and husband Kenneth Essink of Denton, NE; Steven and wife Vicki Gerdes of Everman, TX; Laraine Eschbach of Blue Bell, PA; Bruce Gerdes of Triplett, MO; Charles Gerdes of Auburn; Melanie and husband Gary Richards of McCook Lake, SD; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Irma Oestmann of Rancho Mirage, CA; Diana and husband Sam Rankin of Brook Park, MN; Linda and husband Robert Agnew of Hamburg, IA; brother Gerald and wife Vivian Oestmann of Auburn; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 20, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn. Viewing and visitation will be Monday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00. The body will be cremated following the service, and burial of ashes will be at a later date at Sheridan Memorial Cemetery west of Auburn.
Memorials in lieu of flowers suggested to Auburn Rescue Squad or St. Paul Lutheran Radio Ministry.
