Henry ?Hank? Rieken, age 73 of Johnson, passed away Monday, April 5, 2010 at Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln. He was born July 7, 1936 near Cook, and was an Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife Vera of Johnson; daughter Cheryl and husband Wayne Gerdes of Johnson; son Craig and wife Gina Rieken of Johnson; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother John and wife Irene Rieken of Nebraska City; sisters Tena and husband Marvin Green of Auburn, Peg and husband Ray Thomsen of Beatrice; Frances and husband Harley Goings of Tecumseh, Lena and husband Larry Lotter of Beatrice; sisters-in-law Dora Rieken of Tecumseh, Doris Gerdes of Talmage, Margaret Piper of Brock; brothers-in-law Jack and wife Linda Piper of Leesburg, VA, Kenneth and wife Irene Piper of Syracuse; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 9, 1:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery, with graveside military honors provided by American Legion Post #330 of Johnson. Visitation will be at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Johnson Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., family will greet friends 5:00 to 7:00 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson.
