Adam Morris

Adam Paul Morris, son of James Patrick and Marcia Sue (Drake) Morris, was born April 27, 1970, at Nebraska City, Nebraska. Adam grew up in Peru, Nebraska, where he attended school up until high school. Adam then attended school in Auburn, graduating from Auburn High School in 1988.

After high school, Adam enlisted in the United States Army National Guard. After a short time with the National Guard, Adam enlisted in the United States Navy. Adam served as Quartermaster aboard the USS Okinawa during Operation Desert Storm before his honorable discharge in 1992.

Adam became interested in computers at a young age, his father would have him do coding work on the family computer before allowing him to be able to play games. This interest led to a lifetime career of working with computers. Adam worked Cyber Security and did a lot of contract work for different companies. He worked out of Omaha, Boston, and Wyoming throughout his career.

In his spare time, Adam liked to go camping and hiking, and rock climbing while in Wyoming. He enjoyed photography and reading, guns, and was into health and fitness.

After a diagnosis with colon cancer, Adam had just begun his fight before unexpectedly passing away at his home in Omaha on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, having reached the age of 52 years, 2 months, and 16 days. He was preceded in death by his mother Marcia, grandparents Benjamin Drake, Jr., Kenny Hespen, and Elizabeth (Tynon) Morris.

He is survived by his father and step-mother Pat Morris and Susan Lauritsen-Morris of Peru; siblings Michael and wife Mary Morris of Lincoln, Andrea McCormick of Lincoln, Ben Morris of Auburn; grandma Marie Hespen of Lee’s Summit, MO; nephew Andrew Morris, nieces Bailey and Dayna McCormick; special friends Tom and Deb Hyde, Rebecca and Laura Hyde; other relatives and friends.



A memorial service will be Friday, July 22, 11:00 a.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00.
