Anna Marie Beatty

Anna Marie (Morrissey) Beatty, one of sixteen children of Charles and Harriet (Williams) Morrissey, was born April 25, 1938 in Omaha, NE. Anna attended Saint Philip Neri and Our Lady of Lourdes schools in Omaha.
Anna was employed as an office assistant in an optical office as well as dance instructor while living in Omaha.
On June 14, 1958, Anna Marie was united in marriage to Carol Beatty at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Omaha. They made their home in Peru, NE for the next 54 years. It was there they raised four children, Charles, Julie, Joann, and Theresa.
Anna worked with Carol in their many business ventures in Peru. She helped operate rental properties, the "Speed Queen Laundromat", the "Beatty Garage", "Beatty Bros. Sawmill", the "Little Diner", and later worked at Campbell's Soup Company in Tecumseh, NE.
Anna and Carol were known for their love of dancing together. She was a great cook but excelled at baking. She loved a game of Rummy, Yahtzee, and Scrabble, and was a fierce competitor. Over the years she taught any child that visited their pool how to dive. Anna was most proud of her children, seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
Anna Marie moved to Hastings, MN in October of 2014 and resided at Regina Care Facility. It was there she passed away on August 23, 2015, having reached the age of 77 years. Her parents, husband, and all siblings preceded her in death.
Anna is survived by her children and their spouses Charles and Verissa of Northglenn, CO; Julie and Brad Lockhart of Pinetop, AZ; Joann and Pat Dunn of Brownville, NE; and Theresa and Kyle Kriesel of Hastings, MN, grandchildren: Matthew Dunn of Brownville, NE; Wyatt Dunn of Lincoln, NE; Christopher Beatty of Estes Park, CO; Allissa Lockard of Hastings, MN; Amber Beatty of Windsor, CO; Devin Lockard of Hastings, MN; Megan Lockard of Hastings, MN and two great granddaughters Keira Belle Dunn and Sophia Anna Marie Burr.
Other survivors include very special sister-in-law Geraldine Morrissey of Omaha, NE; brother-in-law Cecil Beatty and wife Kathyrn of Tucson, AZ; sister-in-law Lois Eller of Simi Valley, CA and many nieces and nephews.
