Blanca Antonia Kantack

Blanca Antonia Kantack (Rodas Palacios) was born May 6, 1939, to Jose Luis and Marina Rodas in Nebaj, Guatemala. She attended Boarding School in Guatemala City & graduated in 1957. She was accepted into the Peace Corps and went to El Salvador where she worked as a Home Extension Agent and there she met Gayle.



Blanca and Gayle were united in marriage on May 2, 1964 in Clifton, KS. They were blessed with four daughters: Janet, Diane, Charlene and Sandra.



She was a homemaker raising her girls until they started school. Then she and Gayle bought a clothing store in Burlington, KS. She ran Fashion Crossroads for 10 years. She was President of the American Cancer Society for several years. She organized the Relay For Life. She was very active in the community.



She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Burlington for 47 years and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn, NE for 3 years. She moved to Auburn after the death of Gayle to be close to family. She needed more care so she moved to Nebraska City. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, camping with the family, and traveling.



Blanca passed away on August 10, 2018 in Nebraska City, NE at Morton’s Place. She was diagnosed with Dementia in April of 2014 after falling in her home in February. Blanca was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle, her parents, sisters: Chiqui Galacia and Ony Morales, brother-in-law: Fernando Morales. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Janet and Jerry Bulmer of Auburn, NE; daughter Diane Kantack of Glendale, CA; daughter and son-in-law Charlene and Wayne Anderson of Newbury Park, CA; daughter Sandra Kantack of Plano, TX; 7 grandchildren: Chelsea, Chandler, Charity and Chasity Bulmer and Derick, Monica and Trevor Anderson; 2 brothers and 2 sister-in-laws: Mario and Corky Rodas, Pepe and Lupita Rodas; 1 brother-in-law: Rafa Galacia; 8 nieces and nephews in Guatemala, Central American; 10 sisters-in-laws and 7 brothers-in-law: Janet and Wayne Anderson, Linda and Jerry Bessette, Theresa and Dan Springer, Marilyn and Vince Boudreau, Emagene and Richard Schwindt, Carolyn Blasing, Donna Miles, Zita and Merrill Lancaster, and Michele Dempewolf and Mike and Linda Kantack; and 26 nieces and nephews on the Kantack side.



Blanca will be dearly missed by all! She will be laid to rest in Clifton with her husband.



Rosary will be recited Friday, August 17, 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 18, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clifton, KS. A rosary will precede mass at 10:30. Burial of ashes will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery at Clifton.
