Charles Gerdes

Charles William Gerdes was born on November 9, 1921 in Richardson County Nebraska to John and Bertha (Bertram) Gerdes. Charles passed on November 20, 2013 at Belle Terrace Care Home in Tecumseh, Nebraska at the age of 92.



Charles married Constance (Connie) Little on December 31,1942. He served in the Navy during World War II. He retired at age 62 from the State of Nebraska Department of Transportation.



Charles is survived by his 3 daughters. Jan (Ron) Fish of Pueblo West, Colorado, Barbara (Jim) Barnhart of Salina, Kansas and Charlene Tribbett of Colorado Springs Colorado. He had 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandsons, 8 great grandchildren,1 great great grandson, 2 sisters and 1 brother in law.



He was preceded in death by his wife Connie, his parents, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.



Charles enjoyed his family, his friends, his automobiles and the Nebraska Cornhusker football games.



A memorial service will be Saturday, May 31, 2:00 p.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Inurnment of ashes with graveside military honors will follow at Sheridan Cemetery near Auburn.



Memorials are suggested to Belle Terrace Nursing Facility in Tecumseh..
