Clinton Bantz

Clinton Sears Bantz, one of eight children of William F. and Helen L. (chapman) Bantz, was born December 8, 1938 in Howe, Nebraska. He attended Center School through the 8th grade, and graduated from Auburn High School in 1957. That fall Clint enlisted in the U. S. Navy. He served four years with the Navy, receiving his honorable discharge in the fall of 1961.

On his 24th birthday, December 8, 1962, Clint was united in marriage to Glendolyn ?Glenny? Allgood in Auburn. They made their home on a farm south of Auburn, and were blessed with two daughters, Genie and Rhonda.

Clint farmed all of his life, and he loved it. He raised crops and cattle, and often referred to farming as his hobby. He also worked as a mechanic at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska for 20 years.

Clint grew up in the Howe United Methodist Church, and when it closed he transferred his membership to the First United Methodist Church in Auburn. He belonged to American Legion Post #23 in Auburn, and for many years participated in league bowling.

In 2010 Clint went through a series of health problems. He continued to decline, but with Glenny?s care was able to stay at his home until May of 2012. At that time he became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn. It was there he passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the age of 73 years, 7 months, and 17 days. His parents, brothers Larry, Arnold, Raymond, Robert, and Bill, sister Twyla Heskett, parents-in-law Buck & Teet Allgood, and a grandson preceded him in death.

Clint is survived by his wife Glenny of Auburn; daughters Genie and husband Steve Boden of Auburn; Rhonda Yoesel of Auburn; grandchildren Chris, Matt, and Luke Lundy; Quintin Boden; Nadine and Sadie Yoesel; great-granddaughters Lexi and Brooklyn; brother Lee Bantz of Whittier, CA; brother-in-law Steve Allgood of Falls City; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn, officiated by Rev. Nita Hinds-Park. Pallbearers were Chris Lundy, Matt Lundy, Luke Lundy, Quintin Boden, Tim Pugh, and Bob Sailors. Burial was in Bedford Cemetery near Howe, with graveside military honors provided by American Legion Post #23 of Auburn.
