Delores Dishong

December 4, 1928 — June 30, 2012

Delores Lorrain Dishong, daughter of Henry and Esther (McAlexander) Baker was born December 4, 1928 at Magnet, Nebraska. Her family moved to near Howe, Nebraska and Delores attended rural school near her home.

On April 28, 1947 Delores was united in marriage to Albert ?Whitey? Dishong at Hiawatha, Kansas. They lived in Omaha and Murdock, Nebraska before making Auburn, Nebraska their home. The couple was blessed with four children: Sharon, Kathy, Debbie, and Bob.

Delores, in addition to her homemaking duties, worked at the Campbell?s Soup Plant in Tecumseh, Nebraska and later the WoodCarv Cabinet Plant in Auburn. She retired from WoodCarv, or Tri-Pac as it came to be known, in 1992 after 25 years at the plant.

Delores enjoyed travelling with Whitey when they were able to, and she liked growing and tending to her flowers around her house. Mostly, though, she loved being with her family and watching her grandkids grow.

As health problems dictated, Delores entered St. Elizabeth?s Regional Medical in Lincoln, Nebraska. She passed away there on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 26, days. Her parents, husband Whitey, daughter Sharon, and two brothers preceded her in death.

Delores is survived by her children Kathy and husband Rex Beatty of Auburn; Debbie and husband Scott Coatney of Peru; Bob and wife Monica Dishong of Shubert; son-in-law Jon Patterson of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren Jody, Jon, Jason, Jeremy, David, Jeff, Wade, Ethan, Trevor, Cheyenne, and Chase; 10 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); sister Janice Driver of Spokane, WA; other relatives and friends.
