Ella Patras

Ella Louise Sell, daughter of Fred and Carrie (Kreimeyer) Sell, was born August 20, 1932 in Deshler, Nebraska. Ella attended country school near home, and was baptized and raised in the Catholic faith.

On May 6, 1950 Ella was united in marriage to Frank Victor Bratrsovsky in Loma, Nebraska. Two sons, Jeffrey Mark Paul and Mark Allen Dennis, were born to this union. The couple lived on a farm near Prague, Nebraska until Frank?s passing in July of 1969.

When she was working as a flag girl on a road construction crew, Ella met Donald ?Gene? Patras near Prague. They were married on October 16, 1971 in Prague. In 1973 the family moved to Auburn, Nebraska, where Ella and Gene would live out their lives together.

In addition to her job on road construction, Ella had also worked at the Campbell?s Soup Plant in Fremont, Nebraska and had done house cleaning for many people. In Auburn she performed volunteer work at Good Samaritan and the Valley View Apartments. Ella had been a member of TOPS, and enjoyed her pets and doing puzzles. She was known in Auburn as the ?Christmas Light Lady?, and loved to spend time with her grandsons.

Ella and Gene moved to Long?s Creek Village in Auburn in February of 2008, and in November of that year Ella became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn. She passed away there on Monday, October 18, 2010 at the age of 78 years, 1 month, and 28 days. In addition to her husband Frank, Ella was preceded in death by her parents, half-brother Leonard, sister Evelyn, and brothers Norman, Frederick, Edward, Leonard, Harold, and Bob.

Ella is survived by her husband Gene of Auburn; sons Jeff and wife Leslie Bratrsovsky of Auburn; Mark Bratrsovsky and significant other Kristy Smith of Humboldt; grandsons Marcus Bratrsovsky, Brandon Wiebke, and Dalton Rohrs; sisters Virginia Shipman and friend Robert Morrison of Alamo, TX; Kathy and husband Jim Snyder of Lincoln; brother-in-law Glen and wife Rose Patras of Lincoln; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
