Eva Chadwick

Eva Catherine Chadwick, one of nine children of William E. and Margaret (Landwerth) Stine, was born November 19, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky. She attended school in Louisville and Lanesville, Indiana.

On April 8, 1967 Eva was married to Eldon ?Sam? Chadwick in Fairfax, Missouri. They were blessed with four daughters, Joyce, Lora, Dena, and Samantha. They eventually made their home in Auburn, Nebraska to raise their family.

Eva worked as a waitress in restaurants in Auburn, including Tiny?s Café, Marie?s Café, and Darling?s Café. Raised in the Southern Baptist church, Eva was a member of the Auburn Baptist Church before becoming a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Auburn. She enjoyed the friendship and fellowship she had at church, and also liked to play bingo and do craftwork. Eva was a member of the Red Hat Society in Auburn.

Eva suffered from health problems later in life, and in March of 2012 became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn. She passed away there on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the age of 66 years, 5 months, and 2 days. Her parents, daughter Dena, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers preceded her in death.

Eva is survived by her husband Eldon ?Sam? Chadwick of Auburn; daughters Joyce Strobel and Gary Roe of Auburn; Lora and husband Fred DeHail of Chinchilla, Australia; Samantha Arena and Jack Reeves of Auburn; grandchildren Rachel and husband Brian Jeanneret, Ashley Kite, William Wilson and friend Tiffany Darst, Jessica Leslie, James Arena, Paige Arena, Katrina Hamilton, and Charlie Arena,; great-grandchildren Lacy Carlson and Abby Kite; sisters Rosalee Boddy and Betty McCawley both of Louisville, KY; Ginger and husband Glenn Curtis of Hardinsburg, IN; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be Saturday, April 28, 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Auburn. Inurnment of ashes will follow in Bedford Cemetery at Howe. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00.
