Gwendolyn Cook

June 30, 1914 — December 3, 2010

Gwendolyn Rubie Kincaid, daughter of Frank and Rhea (Arnold) Kincaid, was born June 30, 1914 in Brock, Nebraska. She grew up and attended school in Brock.

On November 14, 1942 Gwen was united in marriage to Augie Mueller. They were blessed with over 40 years of happiness together. Gwen and Augie owned and operated Mueller?s Bar and Grill in Colby, Wisconsin for many years. After their retirement they enjoyed traveling with their Airstream trailer.

Augie passed away in 1983, and somewhat later Gwen was married to Claude Cook until his passing. At that time Gwen moved back to Brock where she was able to live on her own with the help of her cousin Sharon Bowen. She became a member of the Brock Methodist Church and also played cards in various Pinochle clubs. Gwen enjoyed visiting with neighbors, the daily ?coffees?, and attending the school activities of Sharon?s family. Gwen always looked forward to the weekly arrival of the Brock Bugle and the annual arrival of the Brock Firemens? Ground Hog Day Pancake Feed.

Gwen entered the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn, Nebraska in late November, and passed away there on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the age of 96 years, 5 months, and 3 days. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Janet Sharp and brother Jesse Kincaid.

Gwen is survived by her nieces Barbara Laudet and Karen Ackerman in Maryland, nephew Greg Kincaid in Colorado, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held following church services on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Brock United Methodist Church. Rev.
