Leland Lunzmann

Leland ?Lee? Lunzmann, 77, of Auburn, died January 18, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society-Auburn. He was born to Herman and Christine Lunzmann at a farm home east of Auburn on April 23, 1934.



Lee was self-employed for most of his life along with his wife, Pat, of 58 years. They purchased the Dairy Queen in Nebraska City in 1958. Lee was a Pioneer Seed sales agent for 35 years and he and Pat worked together in their appliance, TV, and movie rental business. The Lunzmanns were avid campers and enjoyed trips to many countries. Their travels brought them a lot of friends and memories of the places they visited.



Lee was blessed with a loving family. They made his life special with their love and devotion. His dog, Molly, was his constant companion for the past 15 years. She adored him and stayed by his side during his illness.



Survivors include his wife Pat of Auburn; sons and daughters-in-law David and Dawni of Garden City, KS; Dan and Amy of Auburn; Darren and Kathy of Lincoln; grandchildren Derek, Darcy, Bryan, Abby, Ally & Lucas; sisiters Mildred Needham and Marge Merritt, both of Lincoln; sisters-in-law Elnora Lunzmann of Ida Grove, IA and Huldah Lunzmann of Auburn; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.



Memorial services will be Saturday, January 21, 10:30 a.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Inurnment of ashes will follow at Bedford Cemetery near Howe. Book will be available for signing at the funeral home Friday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There is no viewing.



Memorials are suggested to the Auburn Rescue Squad or Bedford Cemetery.
