Marvin L Jeanneret, 82, passed away May 8th , 2015 at Ambassador Health of Nebraska City, Nebraska City NE.

Marv was born in Brock Nebraska, April 4, 1933 the fourth of twelve children born to Paul Jeanneret Sr. and Millie Adelia (Marchand) Jeanneret. He was the first of their children born and raised in the little farmhouse just outside of Brock. He hunted and fished, swam , ice skated and worked with his brothers and sisters. He graduated from High School in May of 1951 and joined the U.S. Army , January 19, 1955. He served in the Army until November 21, 1956 at bases in Texas, California and Washington before being sent to Korea.

Marv met Marilyn Harmon in Auburn Nebraska and Marilyn later joined him in Alameda California where they were married. After discharge from the Army he was was happy to get back home to Nebraska where he and Marilyn lived in Auburn for the first 5 years of their marriage and where their children Allan and Donna were born. Then in 1961 they bought a house in Brock. His daughter Gail was born in Brock. At first he worked for Johnny Allgood as a bulldozer operator and then eventually started his own bulldozer business. They raised three children in the big, white house on the corner of the highway in Brock and lived there until he and Marilyn retired to Auburn Ne in June of 2012.

Marv’s life was full with taking care of his clients, working in his shop, raising his kids and later taking a major interest in his grandchildren as they came along. His life was full of ordinary , simple pleasures , from taking camping vacations and mushroom hunting to having a beer under the big maple tree after a long day on the dozer. He liked nothing better than being around his family and friends. The high point of the year was always the big Jeanneret family reunion at Paul’s shed in Brock. Family reunions often numbered in the hundreds of people. The Jeanneret family remained close often celebrating life’s precious days together from birthdays to funerals, weddings and babies. Family was everything to Marv.

Marvin Lee Jeanneret of Brock Nebraska is survived by his wife Marilyn, his son Allan and wife Tammy Jeanneret of Nebraska City, daughter Donna Petersen of Nebraska City, and daughter Gail and her husband Terry Zimmerman of Cheney. Grandchildren Brett Hahn and girlfriend Kori Rodis of Nebraska City, Stephanie Petersen and fiancé Jason Booth of Nebraska City, Adam Jeanneret and wife Jenny of Lincoln and Andrew Jeanneret of Lincoln; Alex and Gavin Zimmerman of Cheney, sister Rose Edmonds and husband Roy of Plattsmouth, NE; sister Norma Ossowski and husband Dick; of Auburn, NE; sister Anna Coatney of Weeping Water, NE; sister Darlene Brown and husband Roger of Brock NE, brother Dean Jeanneret and wife Linda of Nebraska City, brother ,John Jeanneret and wife Helen of Johnson NE; brother Clarence Jeanneret of Auburn, sister-in-law Yvonne Jeanneret of Auburn and sister-in-law Vera Jeanneret of Brock, NE, brother in law Ken Harmon and his wife Karen, sister-in-law Marrietta Eden, many nieces and nephews , cousins and friends.

He was preceded into the light by his parents Paul and Millie Jeanneret, his parents-in–law John and Blanche Harmon, and his brothers Paul Jr, Richard, George and Don and his brother-in-laws Ivan Eden and Dean Coatney.

A memorial service was Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn, with Rev. Jackie Gfeller officiating. Special music was played. Honorary bearers were Brett Hahn, Adam Jeanneret, Stephanie Peterson, Andrew Jeanneret, Gavin Zimmerman, and Alex Zimmerman. Burial of ashes was in Clifton Cemetery near Brock, with graveside military honors by American Legion Post #330 of Johnson and the Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard.
