Nathan Slagle

Nathan Jay Slagle, son of Bradley and Barbie (Josephson) Slagle, was born February 8, 1977 in Ness City, Kansas. Nathan attended school and lived in Ness City until he left home for college and his professional career.

On October 29, 2007 Nate was united in marriage to Melissa Sandfort in Jamaica. They would eventually make their home in rural Brock, Nebraska and be blessed with two children, Braden and Harper.

Nathan started out as an apprentice electrician in Gothenburg, Nebraska. While working at locations in Kansas, Missouri, and Omaha he earned his Master Electrician License which was valid in ten states. He was also a successful home builder with his own construction company.

Nate was a loving husband to Melissa and a devoted father to Braden and Harper. His family was his most cherished and heartfelt accomplishment. He sought direction from the Lord and was a member of the Brock United Methodist Church. Nathan loved spending time with his friends and family.

Nathan Jay Slagle, age 36, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2013. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Floyd Slagle, Patsy Josephson, and Dean Josephson.

Nate is survived by his wife Melissa and children Braden and Harper of Brock, NE; mother and father Brad and Barbie Slagle of Beeler, KS; paternal grandmother Gertrude Slagle of Pratt, KS; brother Eric Slagle of Lone Tree, CO; 2 nephews, Devon and Conner Slagle; 3 nieces, Hailey and Audrey Sandfort and Julia Slagle; father- and mother-in-law Ross and Linda Sandfort of Nebraska City, NE; brother- and sister-in-law Michael and Tonya Sandfort of Brock, NE; grandparents-in-law Robert and Lenore Sandfort of Brock, NE; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Funeral services were Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Brock United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Larry Tolen. Deanne Gerking accompanied hymns by the congregation. Pallbearers were Cory Jeanneret, James Gerdes, Michael Sandfort, David Chamblin, Junior Thomason, and Bill Jones. Burial was in the Buda Cemetery at Beeler, Kansas on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
