Robert "Bob" Breazile

Robert Joy Breazile, Jr., one of four children of Robert J. and Lena M. (Hager) Breazile, was born June 11, 1947 in Auburn, Nebraska. Bob attended school and graduated from high school in Auburn.
Shortly after high school, Bob joined the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. As a medical corpsman, he was assigned to a Marine detachment and received the Purple Heart for wounds received during combat.
Bob returned to Auburn following his honorable discharge.
On November 22, 1968 Bob married Diane Schuette at Martin Luther Lutheran Church south of Johnson, Nebraska. They were blessed with two daughters, Shannon and Vanessa. The couple later divorced.
It was at Indian Cave State Park near Shubert, Nebraska that Bob and Debra (Brown) Bennett exchanged wedding vows on September 2, 1995. Bob welcomed Debra?s three children, Will, Julie, and Lance, as his own. The couple made their home in Auburn.
Bob worked at the American Meter Plant in Nebraska City, Nebraska for a time after his service to his country. He then worked in the maintenance department at Peru State College for 26 years. After retiring from that position, Bob worked at Armstrong Cabinets in Auburn for a short time.
Bob was an avid Husker football and volleyball fan. He could name all the players on the volleyball team, and even the recruits that were coming to the program. Other interests included fishing, gardening, carpentry, and about anything that he could do with his hands. In his spare time, when he wasn?t watching the Huskers, Bob enjoyed watching or reading westerns. He also had been a member of the Auburn Eagles Club and the Methodist Church in Auburn.
On Sunday, September 27, 2009 Bob was found at his home by his family, passing away unexpectedly at the age of 62 years, 3 months, and 16 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Tayller E. Cole, father-in-law Roger D. Brown, and brothers-in-law Kurt D. Brown and James Thomas.
Robert is survived by his wife Debra of Auburn; children Shannon and husband Bert Cole of Auburn; Vanessa and husband Mike Kenter of Nebraska City; Will and wife Tenille Bennett of Souix Falls, SD; Julie and husband Scott Denniston of Nebraska City; Lance and wife Crystal Bennett of Nebraska City; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; sisters and brother-in-law Joyce and Ken Anderson of Plattsmouth; Gail Thomas of Arkansas; brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Teresa Breazile of Auburn; mother-in-law Barbara J. Brown of Auburn; other relatives and many friends.
