Ron Bollinger

Ronald Lee Bollinger was born February 12, 1944 in Auburn, Nebraska. The only child of Edward Lee and Catherine (Henne) Bollinger, Ron attended school in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School. He served in the Nebraska National Guard for six years.

On June 27, 1964 Ron was united in marriage to Sharon Conner in the Auburn Christian Church. They made their first home in Omaha, Nebraska, and would be blessed with two daughters, Bronda and Brenda.

While in Omaha, Ron worked as a representative for the American Tobacco Company. In 1970 he moved his family to Auburn and ran his own construction business until 2000. He then worked as a security officer at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska until retiring in 2009. He had also been involved in a sporting goods store and antique store in Auburn with Sharon.

Ron had been a member of the Elks Club, and was in the Kiwanis Club in Auburn. He enjoyed refinishing antique furniture throughout his life, and also liked to be outdoors.

On Sunday, June 23, 2013 Ron was admitted to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn. He passed away there later that day at the age of 69 years, 4 months, and 11 days. His parents and grandparents preceded him in death.

Ron is survived by his wife Sharon of Auburn; daughters Bronda and husband Randy Carlson of Wheatland, MO; Brenda and husband Dennis Kirkpatrick of Auburn; grandchildren Grant Brueggemann, Chance Brueggemann, Ryan Allgood, Jeffrey Allgood, Dennis Kirkpatrick, Jr., and Jamisyn Kirkpatrick; great-granddaughter Faith Allgood; brother-in-law Curtis and wife Rosemary Conner of Omaha; uncle and aunt Rich & Velma Henne of Springfield, MO; other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held Monday, July 8, 10:00 a.m. at the Brownville United Methodist Church, officiated by Sandy Streit. There will be a luncheon immediately following at Capital Square Park in Brownville.

Private family inurnment of ashes was held at an earlier date at Bedford Cemetery at Howe.
