Ronnie Hill

November 23, 1948 — January 19, 2020

Ronnie Dean Hill, one of seven children of Albert Lee and May Bernice (Klepper) Hill, was born November 23, 1948 in Auburn, Nebraska. Ron grew up in Auburn and attended Auburn Public Schools, graduating from high school in 1967.

Ron entered the United States Army on March 26, 1969. He served in Viet Nam in Armor Unit Supply. Ron received his honorable discharge on November 10, 1970 and returned to Auburn.

Ronnie worked for over 20 years for Auburn Haulaway as a trash collector. After leaving that business he worked for various farmers in the area, including Clay Kennedy and Kennedy Orchards picking apples.

In spare time Ron enjoyed playing cards and played many afternoons at the Auburn Legion Club. He liked to shoot pool and played in many tournaments. He fished in his earlier years.

Ron passed away unexpectedly at his home in Auburn on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the age of 71 years, 1 month, and 27 days. His parents, sisters Sharon Straw and Janet Garver, and brother Jim preceded him in death.

Ron is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Howard and Kathryn Hill of Odell; sisters and brothers-in-law Linda and Duane Weiner of Auburn, Phyllis and Ed Cox of Auburn; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.





A memorial service will be Thursday, January 23, 10:30 a.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Burial of ashes will be at a later date at the Omaha National Cemetery.
