William. "Bill" Lynch

William M. Lynch III was born June 19, 1949 in Auburn, Nebraska. He was one of four children of William M., Jr. and Edith Arlene (Fellers) Lynch, and attended school in Auburn. Bill graduated from Auburn High School and received a Bachelor of Science from Peru State College.
On June 15, 1974 Bill was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Grotrian at Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children, Jennifer Leigh and Jeffrey William, and made their home in Auburn.
Bill had worked at Hahn Clothing in Auburn during his younger years. He then worked at the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles before starting a 25 year career in the auto dealership business. Bill worked for Obermeyer Motors, Johnson Motors, and for Meyer Earp before retiring from the business.
Bill was baptized in the First United Methodist Church on March 29, 1958 and went on to be a lifetime member. He received his 50 year member pin this last May. Bill was also a member of the Auburn Jaycees, Auburn Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Sheridan Cemetery Association Board. He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Auburn Country Club for years. Bill enjoyed watching sports, and was a fan of the Husker football team, the Creighton basketball team, and the Auburn Bulldogs. But what Bill loved the most was being a grandpa.
After a decline in health, Bill moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn. It was there he passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011, having reached the age of 62 years, 1 month, and 23 days. Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father William, Jr.
Bill is survived by his wife Barb of Auburn; daughter Jen and husband Eric Gooding of Belton, MO; son Jeff and wife Shannon Lynch of Alma, NE; grandchildren Connor and Kyleigh Gooding, Creighton Lynch; mother Arlene Lynch; father- and mother-in-law Don and Vi Grotrian of Auburn; sisters Rebecca Lynch of Lincoln, Kathryn and husband Randy Hansen of Lenexa, KS; brother Lee and wife Mary Lynch of Auburn; brothers-in-law Charles and wife Judy Grotrian of Brock, Bob and wife Kathy Grotrian of Humboldt, Ron and wife Deb Grotrian of Johnson, Gerald and wife Chris Grotrian of Johnson; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
