Obituary

Alicia Ann (Teten) Blex, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, entrepreneur, and cherished member of the Auburn and Nebraska City communities, passed away on April 4, 2026, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Born on June 17, 1963, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, Alicia lived a vibrant and full life marked by adventure, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.

A graduate of Auburn High School’s class of 1981, Alicia embarked on a lifelong career as a hair stylist, owning The Hair Factory in Nebraska City for over 35 years. She was driven and hardworking, taking immense pride in her business and the joy she found in making her clients feel beautiful. Her warmth, infectious laugh, and generous spirit extended beyond the salon into every corner of her life.

Known for her adventurous nature, vivacious personality, Alicia embraced life with enthusiasm and warmth. She was always up for anything — whether dancing in Nashville, attending concerts, traveling with family and close friends, or going on motorcycle trips to Montana with her close circle of friends.

Among Alicia's treasured memories were moments spent with her grandchildren — attending their activities, playing, and memorable family trips to Mexico and Nashville. She found fulfillment in her morning workouts at the Wellness Center (except for the burpees), daily walks with her dear friend, golfing as a member of the Auburn Country Club, and participating in the infamous BOOT Club. Her warm and empathetic heart, coupled with a great sense of humor and outgoing nature, endeared her to many.

Alicia's proudest accomplishments were becoming a grandmother and raising her children to be good people.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Russ; children Blake (Brittany) Zinn, Tray Blex, Jimmy (Lynn) Blex, and Jessica (Kyle) Musfeldt; and grandchildren Zuri Zinn, Cora and Grant Blex, Hadley and Klein Musfeldt. Alicia’s parents, Robert and Barbara Teten; sister, Vanessa Teten (Mary Yori); brother, Scott (Shelly) Teten; and aunt, Denice Rathbone (Joe Kuttler) also survive her. She is further survived by her parents-in-law Jim and Marilyn Blex, Joann and Jerry Wilson; sisters- and brothers-in-law Dianna (Dave) Hunter, Allen Kleckinger, Becky Whisler, and Rae Ann Goering; as well as many other relatives and friends who held a special place in her heart.

Alicia was preceded in death by her infant brother Bobby Dell and sister-in-law Donna (Blex) Pugh.

In the face of her passing, Alicia’s generosity continued, as she was able to save the lives of three individuals through organ donation, further exemplifying her selflessness and caring nature.

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 11, 1:00 p.m. at Auburn High School Gymnasium. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 5:00 to 7:00. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Glenrock Cemetery near Brock.
