Anna Dedic

Anna Sue Dedic (née Parsons) was born on July 28, 1975, in Amarillo, Texas to Charles “Ed” Parsons and Magdalen “Meg” Parsons (née Still). Anna attended first and second grade in Amarillo at St Laurence Catholic Elementary before moving to Pampa, Texas. In 1990, the summer between her freshman and sophomore year, the family moved to Nebraska City, Nebraska. Anna attended Lourdes Central Catholic and graduated in the class of 1993. Anna graduated from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1997.

Anna was united in marriage to James “Jim” Dedic in January 1998. The couple raised their three children Ethan, Jacob, and Megan in Auburn, Nebraska. To say that Anna was a great mom and wife is an understatement. She loved her kids more than life itself and she would make sure that everyone knew about her family. Even after working multiple night shifts in a row, Anna would be in the audience for sporting events, plays, no matter how big or small their contribution was.

Anna was a dedicated nurse, spending countless hours caring for patients at Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn. She also was a devout Catholic. She will be remembered by checking out 10 books at a time and reading them all in a month, collecting miniatures and creating beautiful scenes with them, being able to stick an IV even in the most stubborn veins, but most importantly, Anna loved with her whole heart and more. If you needed Anna Dedic, she would be there in a heartbeat.

Anna joined her Heavenly Father Tuesday, January 16, 2024, while sleeping peacefully at her home near Auburn, at the age of 48.

Anna is survived by her husband Jim of Auburn, NE and her three children Ethan of Lincoln, NE; Jacob of Kansas City, MO; and Megan of Hastings, NE; siblings Rev. Vincent Parsons of St. Paul, NE; Dan Parsons of Lincoln, NE; James (Angela) Parsons of Syracuse, NE and Jeanna Parsons-Pestel of Omaha, NE. She had many nieces and nephews- affectionately known as “Aunt Anna”. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Mark Edmund Parsons and Matthew Christopher Parsons.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, January 23, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn.  Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.  Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery near Auburn.   Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00.
