Obituary

Bertha Jean Conyers, lovingly known as Jean, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, in Auburn, Nebraska. Born on September 16, 1933, in Onawa, Iowa, she was the ninth of twelve children and grew up attending school in her hometown.

Throughout her life, Jean embraced many roles and experiences, holding numerous jobs, but her most cherished and significant identity was that of a devoted wife and mother. She took immense pride in her family, considering her proudest accomplishments to be her children and grandchildren. Jean's dedication to nurturing and supporting her loved ones was a cornerstone of her life.

Jean nurtured a deep appreciation for simple joys and interests. She was an avid reader, finding solace and adventure in books. Her passion for gardening brought beauty and life to her surroundings, as she lovingly tended to her flowers. Bird watching was another of her heartfelt hobbies, through which she connected with nature and found peace.

She is survived by her daughters Karen Ann Miller of Omaha, Amy (Steve) Kampschnieder of Papillion, and Julie Lynn Conyers (Rick Whiteley) of Auburn. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Elizabeth and Ben Kampschnieder, and her great-grandchildren Emersen, Hunter, Colt, Sloane, and Estelle. Jean’s sister Gloria "Dee" Isakson of Escondido, California, and niece Reva Weinlaub, along with other relatives and friends, also carry forward her memory with love.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert, her son Gary Allen Conyers, and ten siblings. Her life was marked by a steadfast commitment to family and an enduring warmth that touched all who knew her.

Her passing leaves a space that will be deeply felt by those who were fortunate to share in her journey. Jean’s compassionate spirit and the love she so freely gave will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
