Beverly Ann (Moss) Beasterfield, age 64 of Johnson, NE, went to be with Jesus on May 11, 2025 after battling an aggressive leukemia.
Bev was born on June 30, 1960 in Fairmont, MN to Robert and Marilyn Moss. Beverly was the oldest of three children, one being her identical twin, and she loved growing up surrounded by family in Bellevue, NE. At the age of eight, Bev recognized the sin in her life and her need for a Savior. She accepted God’s free gift of salvation through His son Jesus’ death on the cross and asked Him to take the punishment for her sin.
She attended Bellevue Public Schools and was a member of the first graduating class of Bellevue East High School in 1978. Following graduation, she attended Grace College of the Bible in Omaha. During that time and several years following, Bev worked as a secretary at Pleasantview Berean Church in Bellevue. In 1987, she met and married Ray Beasterfield. A short time later, they relocated to Dallas, PA to serve at Camp Orchard Hill. She loved her time in Pennsylvania working and fellowshipping with others. Her first child, Glenn, was welcomed into the world in 1989. Glenn quickly became ill and passed away within hours. The hope of eternity with Jesus and the love of their friends helped them through this tragic time. They welcomed their second child, Joy, in 1991 and their third, Rob, a few years later.
After Joy was born, Ray and Bev moved back to Nebraska and eventually settled in the small town of Johnson. More than anything, Bev cherished being a mother and homeschooling her children. In 2008, Joy and Rob joined the Johnson-Brock Public Schools and Bev became the office manager at the Nemaha County Extension Office. Her job brought her so much joy, and she liked finding ways to interact with and bless 4-H families.
When Bev wasn’t at the office, she filled her time with: being a grandma, baking, fishing, and whatever was on her “to-do” list. Her talents included playing the piano, singing with Ray, and anything requiring attention to detail. She was also a champion pie baker! Bev always cared so deeply about others and wanted to make things as convenient as possible for those around her. She will be missed.
Bev was preceded in death by her son, Glenn Beasterfield. She is survived by husband, Ray Beasterfield; daughter, Joy (Jonah) Pals; son, Rob Beasterfield; grandchildren, Aniya, Kip, and Wilder Pals; parents, Robert and Marilyn Moss; sisters, Betty (Gregory) Miles and Diane (Dan) Davis, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, May 30th from 6:00-8:00 pm, with a funeral service to be held on Saturday, May 31st at 11:00 am. Both will be at the Auburn Berean Church, 1620 N St, Auburn, NE 68305.
Memorial contributions can be sent to the family and will be gifted to the Nemaha County 4-H Council and Camp Orchard Hill in Pennsylvania.
