Craig
Knecht
Nov 10, 1965 — Aug 5, 2026
Auburn, NE
Craig Alan Knecht, age 60, of Auburn, Nebraska, passed away August 5, 2026 in Auburn. He was born November 10, 1965, in Dearborn, Michigan.
Craig was a very loving and caring man who loved spending time with his grandchildren and absolutely adored them. He enjoyed playing pool and could always be found talking proudly about his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was hardworking, loyal, honest, and deeply devoted to the people he loved.
Craig was also remembered through the Southeast Nebraska Pool League for the warmth, steady sportsmanship, and encouragement he brought to every match. Teammates shared that he watched out for newer players and mentored others with practical tips—especially around safer shot selection and control. His approach was described as composed and tactically sound, but what stood out most was how he made people feel comfortable learning: quick pointers rather than criticism, encouragement when someone missed, and recognition of small wins to keep morale up. League members also highlighted his consistency over multiple seasons and his team-first attitude, including strong tournament finishes such as a 3rd-place run at the Tournament of the Heartland, where teammates praised his “great shooting.” Craig’s presence helped create a culture where the game felt friendly, respectful, and welcoming for everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Bowland; his sons Shawn Moyer, Dylan Bowland, and Gregory Bowland; his grandchildren Samantha, Carter, Presley, Dexter, and Graycen; and his stepchildren, Elise Brase and Alexandra Brase.
Craig is further survived by his siblings, Michele Davis Rosekrans (Arizona), Kristina Knecht Cuda (Nebraska), Annie Knecht Bolender (Nebraska), Jason Knecht (Florida), and Tracy Knecht Witeaker (Florida). He is also survived by additional family, including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Teresa Darlene Farber Knecht and Larry Dean Knecht.
