Dale Leroy Perry, one of five children of Leroy and Lucille (Morgan-Price) Perry, was born October 4, 1938, at Rock Port, Missouri. Dale grew up and attended school at Rock Port where he excelled at both football and track while in high school. Dale graduated from Rock Port High School with the class of 1956.

On March 18, 1957, Dale was united in marriage to Betty Joyce Kizer in Peru, Nebraska. They lived in Rock Port for several years before moving to Auburn to make their home and raise their three children: Randy, Ron, and Sharon.

Dale worked several years at Co-Op in Auburn and for Niders-Jurgens Asphalt before starting his career in construction. Dale was a member of the Carpenters Union and worked some sort of construction for a majority of his life.

In his spare-time, Dale loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking, and could make just about anything out of wood. He enjoyed playing cards and cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Chicago Bears.

After Joyce’s passing in 2016, Dale continued to live at their home in Auburn. In July of 2022, when he was no longer able to stay at home, Dale moved to the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn. It was there that he passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, having reached the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 20 days. In addition to his wife Joyce, Dale was preceded in death by his parents, sister Beverly (Bob) Wacker, brother Harold (Evelyn) Perry, and grandson Ryan Perry.
