Elaine (Ebeler) Schnipkoweit

   Elaine Elsie (Ebeler) Schnipkoweit, one of four children of Marvin and Phyllis (Seid) Ebeler, was born July 23, 1957, at Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Elaine grew up attending school in Auburn, Nebraska and graduated from Auburn High School with the class of 1975.

   In 1975, Elaine was united in marriage to Larry Cole.  They would be blessed with two children:  Nate and Michelle.  The couple would later divorce.

   Elaine began her years of employment working at Petersen Manufacturing Company in DeWitt, Nebraska.  She then moved to Colorado and began working for Level 3 Communications in Broomfield.   Elaine then moved back to Nebraska and worked at a Case IH Dealership in Grand Island.  She would then move to Tecumseh and for the last five years, Elaine had been employed at Tecumseh State Correctional Institute.

   On June 11, 2016, Elaine was united in marriage to Jeff Schnipkoweit at their home in Tecumseh.  Elaine welcomed the addition of Jeff’s children, Nicholas and Aldin, to her family.   

   Elaine had a passion for motorcycles, she belonged to the Harley Davidson Owners Group as well as the Women’s Harley Davidson Owners Group.  She enjoyed cheering on the Nebraska Cornhusker Women’s Volleyball team, traveling, and her cats.  Elaine was also a bowler, belonging to the National Bowling Association, she bowled in leagues throughout the years, and traveled to Nationals multiple times.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and getting to watch their various activities.

   On Thursday, February 15, 2024, Elaine passed away peacefully at her home in Tecumseh, having reached the age of 66 years, 6 months, and 23 days.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Phyllis Ebeler.  

   Those left to mourn her passing include her husband Jeff of Tecumseh; son and daughter-in-law Nate and Holly Cole of Lincoln; daughter Michelle Allison and significant other Andrew Woodson of Greenwood; step-children Nicholas Schnipkoweit, Aldin Banghart; grandchildren Ashleigh Grow, Breanne Cole, Olivia Allison; step-grandchildren Madison and Taylor Schnipkoweit, Brooklyn Banghart; siblings Shirley (Charles) Hines of Auburn, Paul (Kathy) Ebeler of Lincoln, Debbie (Mike) McCall of Oakwood, IL; father- and mother-in-law Paul and Mary Alice Schnipkoweit; brother-in-law Terry Schnipkoweit; numerous other relatives and friends.           

 

A memorial service will be Saturday, February 24, 3:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 1:00 to 3:00 at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn.  Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Sheridan West Cemetery at Auburn.
