Jean Clark

Jean Foster, daughter of Carl and Millie (Clark) Foster, was born June 5, 1938 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She and her sister Joann attended school in Sioux City, Iowa.

Jean was united in marriage to Clinton Clark on June 7, 1971 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Together they joined their families and raised eight children: Dianna, Rick, Cindy, Virginia, Brenda, Laurie, David, and Terry.

Jean was employed at Auburn Consolidated Industries for many years. After her retirement she loved shopping and traveling. Her biggest passion was spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She also spent many years babysitting her special “grandkids” Layna and Kaylin.

After a lengthy illness, Jean passed away at Good Samaritan Society-Auburn on August 29, 2019 at the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 24 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, two children Steve Jarrett and Laurie Clark, and sister Joann Sweet.

Jean is survived by her husband Clinton of Auburn; daughter Dianna of Auburn; son and daughter-in-law Rick and Amy Clark; daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Steve Cole; daughter and son-in-law Virginia and Tim Henkle; daughter Brenda Haith; son and daughter-in-law David and Sherry Clark; son and daughter-in-law Terry and Anita Clark; grandchildren Tony and Suzie Grafton, Traci Gillispie, Tommy and Skye Grafton, Whitney Clark, Shannon Cole, Brent and Abby Cole, Grant Cole, Paige Henkle, Jason and Janet Clark, Toby and Sarah Henry, Jamee Clark, Halle Clark, Colton Clark, George and Cady Jackson, Emily Clark, Abbey Clark; 16 great-grandchildren Reese, Quinn, Gavin, Luke, Ava, Karli, Kennedy, Addison, Brewer, Harper, Hannah, Hailey, Devon, Jaylynn, Carver, and Sagan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, September 4, 10:00 a.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Private family committal of ashes will be later at Sheridan Cemetery near Auburn. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00.

Memorials are suggested to Bedford Cemetery or Sheridan Cemetery.
