Lana Rae Fulton

July 22, 1954 — August 10, 2019

Lana Rae (Coulter) Fulton, only child of Don and Mabel (Bath) Coulter, was born July 22, 1954 in Auburn, Nebraska. She was a member of Bethel Community Church growing up and attended Pleasant Ridge District #18 School through the 8th grade. She then transferred to Auburn High School, graduating in 1972.

On April 28, 1973 Lana was united in marriage to William Fulton at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn, which she later joined. They made their home in rural Auburn and would be blessed with four children: Audrey, Terry, Eric, and April.

Lana was an active member and officer of the Auburn Chapter of P.E.O. for many years. She was involved over the years in many church activities including youth religious education, St. Joseph Tabernacle Society, eucharistic minister, and much more. She and her husband, Bill, were dedicated to parish evangelization retreats in the Auburn St. Joseph Catholic community and many other southeast Nebraska parishes. She was a leader and director of evangelization retreats, but mostly she shared the good news by her way of life. Lana managed the St. Francis Gift & Thrift store in Auburn for the last 15 years. It was not a job for her but a ministry for the church and community. Many benefited from her service. Her family was always a priority in her life. Lana loved God, she loved her family, and she loved her friends. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and baking for family gatherings, and supporting her 21 grandchildren in their many activities.

Lana recently received a diagnosis of cancer from her doctor, and she made the absolute most of the time she had left with family and friends. With the help of family and health professionals, she was able to remain at her home until the end. On Saturday, August 10, 2019, with family surrounding her with their love, she entered Heavenly rest just 19 days after her 65th birthday. Her parents Don and Mabel and parents-in-law Francis and Joan Fulton preceded her in death.

Those who remain to remember Lana’s loving ways include her husband Bill of Auburn; children and spouses Audrey and Shawn Gibbs of Harrisonville, MO; Terry and Misy Fulton of Nebraska City; Eric and Wendy Fulton of Auburn; April and Blaine Boellstorff of Auburn; grandchildren Jacob, Elizabeth (and husband Mason Saffels), Hannah, Natalie, and Gideon Gibbs; Libby, Colter, Brianna, Sofia, Isabelle, Nina, Kelby, and Vaeda Fulton; Wyatt, Luke, Bridget, and Olivia Fulton; Rylan, Levi, Avery, and Emmy Boellstorff; great-granddaughter Naomi Saffels; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 17, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery near Auburn. Visitation will be Friday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 5:00 to 7:00. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to family choice for later designation.
