Sara Sue (Hoffman) Gilbert, age 81 of Johnson, passed away November 7, 2026, at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband John of Johnson; sons and daughters-in-law Scott and Cheryl of Loveland, CO, Mike and Marilyn of Brock; daughters and sons-in-law Julie and Don Riggins of Johnson, Katie and Mike Foster of Indianola, NE; grandchildren Trevor (Brookelyn) Gilbert, Calissa Gilbert, Ashton Gilbert, Christopher (Jaclin) Gilbert, Emily Blessing, Adam (Amanda) Gilbert, Christopher (Chrissy) Riggins, Tom (Samantha) Riggins, Nichole Riggins (Ben Glenn), Alyse Foster; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Roxanne and Jerry Oestmann of Johnson, Becky and Lee Kohrs of Lincoln; sister-in-law Mary Stukenholtz of Dodge City, KS; other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 14, 10:00 a.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Burial will follow in Clifton Cemetery near Brock. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family greeting friends 5:00 to 7:00.
