Thomas Wayne Rivett, 74, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Auburn, Nebraska. Born on October 28, 1950, Thomas was the son of Charles T. Rivett and Martha Rivett. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his son Austin Rivett and Austin’s wife Mary, and his daughter Deb Reiman and her husband Kevin. His grandchildren: Allyson Warner (Tyler), Weston Reiman (Frankie) Maddie Reiman (Tyler), Dakota, Denise, Marlie, Skylar, Hialee, Ihrey, Rianna, and Riley Reiman. Tom fell in love once in his lifetime. He met Dorothy at age 15 and they married at 19, spending 55 loving years in marriage until his death did them part. When he was young he had hopes of becoming an educator. As his family was started and work demands grew he began his career in the foodservice industry. He spent 18 years with McDonalds corporation, 24 years with Sysco foodservices, and 12 years with Key Impact Food Brokers. During this career he was able to fulfill his aspirations of teaching as he conducted training, speaking, and consulting sessions. He developed great interpersonal relationships and personal reputation.

When asked his definition of success he states, “Having a positive influence on everyone you come in contact with”. Those that know him will attest that he achieved and maintained this success throughout his life. They will also note few people they meet in life that exude the type and amount of kindness that he did. Tom’s stated purpose in life, “Influence others by example to live their best lives”, and “Prepare for Eternity”. He has, and eternity finds him well prepared. He is loved and will be missed.
