Wanda Beth Sierks

February 19, 1955 — June 27, 2023

Wanda Beth Conn was born February 19, 1955, in Auburn, Nebraska to Joseph and Fern (Sage) Conn. One of eight children, Wanda attended school in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School in 1973.

Wanda was united in marriage to Lonnie Sierks on April 25, 1981, at the Brownville Methodist Church. The couple made their home in rural Brownville and were blessed with three children: Joe, Amy, and Lisa.

In her early years Wanda had worked at the Dairy Sweet in Auburn. She then served as a Certified Nurse Assistant at the Good Samaritan Center in Auburn.

As the children came along, she shifted her attention to being a full time Mom and homemaker.

Wanda had taken up birdwatching as a hobby in recent times among other interests. Throughout her life, however, her focus was always on family and spending time with them.

As her health declined as a result of a cancer diagnosis, Wanda entered the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn in June of 2023. She passed away there on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the age of 68 years, 4 months, and 8 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters and brothers-in-law Roma and Wilbur Rowell, Roberta Reddick, and Jolene and Charles Ogg.

Remembering her with love are her husband Lonnie of Auburn; children and their spouses Joe (Sheena) Sierks of Brownville, Amy Sierks of Auburn, Lisa (Ben) Laun of Table Rock; grandchildren Trevor and Logan Sierks, Levi, Kyle, and Bridget Sierks, Oliver and Ella Laun; sisters Ruth Hyde of Elkhorn, Marie Conn of Elkhorn, Pam Conn (Ken Schlange) of Auburn; brother Bob (Estelle) Conn of Nemaha; sisters- and brothers-in-law Myrna (Stan) Brooks of Rock Port, MO, Michelle (Bill) Hawkins of Rock Port, David (Bonnie) Sierks of Lincoln, Chuck (Kayla) Sierks of Rock Port, Melissa (Russ) Fisher of Clay Center; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
