Yvonne E. (Blinde) Foote Davis was born October 1, 1930, on the family farm southwest of Johnson, Nebraska. She was one of two daughters of Rollie and Ida M. (Teten) Blinde. Yvonne was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson. She attended Johnson public school, where she graduated from high school and played volleyball and was homecoming queen. She attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for one year.
Yvonne married E. J. Feichtinger in August of 1950, making their home in Johnson. They did lots of ballroom and square dancing and listening to classical music. Two daughters, Mary Jo and Helen, were born to this union. Yvonne and Bud divorced in 1971.
In 1972 she married Frank O Foote. Yvonne and Frank lived in Raton, New Mexico and spent time traveling to both coasts and abroad. After Frank’s passing in 1992 Yvonne was united in marriage to Orville “Les” Davis in 1995. The couple made their home in West Plains, Missouri, and enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home. Les passed away in 2017 and Yvonne moved to Auburn, Nebraska to be close to her daughters.
While living in Johnson, Yvonne worked as a legal secretary and stenographer for 22 years for Lowell Hahn and Jack McKnight. In New Mexico she managed Christian Relief Services for 3 years.
Yvonne was a longtime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson. She belonged to the UNL Burnett Society and enjoyed going to Husker volleyball games. She spent many hours at her great-grandchildren’s activities, even with declining eyesight.
Yvonne’s health deteriorated in her later years, and she was admitted to Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln on June 27, 2025. She passed away there on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the age of 94 years and 9 months. In addition to her husbands Frank and Les, she was preceded in death by her parents Rollie and Ida, sister and brother-in-law Maxine and Alvin Haack, great-grandsons Trenton Lunzmann and Tyler Armknecht, and nephew Ken Haack.
